about

"'Guilt' is a short film written and directed by Hakon Palsson. We collaborated closely on the development and flming of the project and I created a series of cues for the film. After some time I realised I enjoyed these pieces a great deal outside of the context of the film, as music to themselves. I wrote a series of smaller pieces in the same vein which fitted together with the music from the film and expanded it to an album-length piece of work. It was also performed live at the closing of the Glasgow Short Film Festival in 2012 by Lorcan Doherty, Ally Winford and myself. The bass shook glass from the walls, amongst other things.

It is a very personal collection of music as the themes of the film resonate with me a great deal.

I highly recommend you check out Hakon's work, as he is a highly accomplished cinematographer and generally a great guy.

Spanning the divide between Steve Reich and avant-garde guitar music, Collings has already found considerable praise from the international community for his previous releases under the curious moniker Sketches for Albinos ... more
